Introducing Ryan Fox, a 2011 graduate whose journey from high school to his current pursuits demonstrates the value of determination and pursuing one's passions. Ryan's educational path took him to Central Washington University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance. He continued his studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, achieving a Master of Music in Percussion Performance.
Ryan's academic focus was on instrumental music performance, and he complemented this with a minor in Aviation Management. Currently, he leads a multifaceted career. On one front, he is a performer, showcasing his musical talents with various orchestras and ensembles, including the Helena Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Symphony Orchestra, Mid-Columbia Symphony Orchestra, Emerald Ballet Theatre, and the Bronn Journey Christmas shows since 2014. Simultaneously, he wears a different hat as manager in the freight and frozen department at Red Apple Market.
Reflecting on his high school experience, Ryan's involvement extended beyond music. He actively participated in track and archery. In the realm of music and the arts, he contributed to the Wind Ensemble, musical pit, marching band, and solo/ensemble competitions, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to his craft. Additionally, his leadership as president of Key Club showed his engagement in community service.
For Ryan, the opportunity to start each day by playing music was a cherished part of his high school experience, setting a positive tone for his school day. His advice to young Turks is practical and grounded in his own experiences. He encourages them to find something they love and excel at it, emphasizing that there's always room in the world for excellence. While acknowledging the opportunities at SHS, he also encourages students to explore beyond the school's boundaries, connecting with a broader community to find their own niche and passions.
