Sultan Schoolmates Reunion a Success

A great time was had by all attendees! And it was an especially great time for Emily Keyes who won the 50/50 raffle prize of $618!

Emily Keyes, raffle winner

Elliana Day, the Schoolmates scholarship winner for 2023, was present. Elianna received a $1,500.00 scholarship. She plans to attend Edmonds College to study horticulture.

Elianna’s sister, Tiannah Day Salas, as well as Joey Johnston, both previous scholarship winners came to help too. They had a great time visiting with folks at the event. Joey remarked "I was able to help and meet and talk with some very cool graduates.” Tiannah and Elliana had a great time too!

Joey was right! We have a lot of very cool graduates and it’s so much fun to get together. The ages spanned from the Class of 1953 to the Class of 2023. People traveled from Kentucky, Nevada, Arizona and all over Washington.

To support next years Schoolmates Scholarship $326 was raised in donations! If you'd like to help out too, you can send checks to

Sultan Education Foundation, PO Box 541, Sultan, WA 98294.

We are grateful for the support of Sultan Mayor Russell Wiita, Bub Sackman and Aaron Olson. Joy Jelinek Tachell and Jackie Skorick Rowe set up a great display from the museum featuring class pictures and yearbooks.

We have alumni who are doing amazing work all over the world. A quick few words from you is all it takes. Join this valuable network here.
